I have this incredible ability to see fully formed ideas in my mind's eye. It's a flash, a vision, and for the longest time, I didn't realize not everyone's brain worked like that. I can walk into a space and see the finished designed interior. Down to every detail, it's all so clear and complete to me.

And that's exactly what happened when I found a groovy pair of sunnies on the ground at a train station in Philly. As soon as I leaned down to pick them up, the word 'shine' popped into my consciousness and I just HAD to get it into my sketchbook. As you can see from the original drawing, it came through crystal clear.

Ideas really fascinate me and this print reminds me of that phenomenon each time I look at it. I keep the original glasses, complete with all its scratches, in my office as a souvenir from my creative journey.

My hope is that this print can spark joy and remind you to keep shining. Be so damn shiny that others need sunglasses, OK? Because that's our magic, and that's what makes us special.
